While I grew up knowing my star sign and reading about the different signs in a book of baby names that I found in my parents’ basement, astrology didn’t click for me until about the second week into my Saturn return (Saturn conjunct Venus in Sagittarius in the 9th house—if this doesn’t make sense to you, don’t worry but you should maybe book a reading) when a friend introduced me to the weekly horoscopes Chani Nicholas was writing, and I read my horoscope for my rising sign.

Since that moment, I’ve consumed astrology content and have studied the planets’ movements on my own chart and my friends’ charts.

Through this experience, I have seen time and again how astrology can act as a guide to help shed light on our lived experiences and past and current challenges. Thus, while I don’t believe astrology is determinant or usurps our free will, I do believe that it can be a powerful tool with which to work and help ascribe meaning to our lives.
